Okay, so. Since my last entry, I've completed countless hours of homework, got a job at an Arthur Murray dance studio, quit said job because it felt a little too shady for me, and am back to searching for a job. I've got an interview at the local library today, and I've already submitted resumes to several local school districts in hopes of some sub work. I don't have the time to take on a full-time teaching position right now, so I'm hoping for per diem work. It pays well, and every now and then, I *might* get to do homework while I'm there! That's about all that's new in my life. I talk to my mom on the phone just about daily (miss her like crazy; that's one of the hardest parts of growing up and moving away). Nick and I aren't exactly enjoying being 100 miles apart, but we're making the best of it by doing all of our homework during the week and spending weekends together. Two weeks ago, I visited the Poconos and we went apple picking, saw a comedy show, worked the showcase for Studio West, and visited with my parents. He came here this past weekend, and we went to the San Gennaro festival in Little Italy and went for dinner at an Irish pub/restaurant near my house. This weekend, I'm visiting him, and we're hopefully going to keep it a little less expensive since I'm currently unemployed. I can't wait to see him! I mean, we speak daily (at length), but it's just not the same as falling asleep in his arms, having coffee with him in the morning, and all that. Anyway. On a positive note, I'm going to fill out yet another music survey, partially because it's getting to be tradition, and partially because I just want to. Wow. I haven't written an entry in here in months. Longer than that, possibly. It's all surveys. And I'm posting another one in a moment, but a quick update first. I was accepted to the graduate program in English Literature at Hofstra University, so I'll be moving back to Long Island, but almost 90 minutes' drive from where I grew up. I can't wait to start the next phase of my education. I should have my masters degree in two years, then Ph.D., here I come!!! I'm dating a boy that I like(love) quite a bit, and I'm so fortunate to have found him ("Don't question it," he says, "just enjoy it." And he's right.). He dances. Just when I'd given up all hope of finding a boy who even remotely knows how to dance (I thought I was being unreasonable and unrealistic), I started dating a ballroom dance instructor. He lives in Pennsylvania, though, so I'll only get to see him every couple of weeks during the semester. We'll have breaks, though, and phone calls (thank God for Verizon's "in" network). In other news...ahm...I'm reading almost nonstop, trying to get my brain back into active gear before I head back to school. I finished the job at the ballroom studio at the end of June, traveled to Europe for a couple of weeks (Dublin, London, Oxford), got bitten by the travel bug and can't wait to plan my next vacation (which will have to wait until I've paid this one off), went camping with Nick and his family, and have been packing and getting all of my things ready to be moved to Nassau County.
